Many first time boat buyers may wonder when the best timeof year is to purchase a yacht or boat. While it may be possible, if you;re lucky, to get a good deal on a boat any time of year, many people will suggest that you should wait until the off season.

 

Waiting until the end of a typical yachting season to make your boat purchase will allow you to get the best deal possible. The new model boat year always starts in July which means that the price for the current model years that are now available will go down significantly. If you don’t mind having a boat that isn’t a brand new model, then it would be a good idea to wait until after July to get a better deal on what would be considered to be an older model boat even though the boat has never been used or sold.

 While there are many boat shows held in the spring and summer months, you can find some of the best deals on boats available if you attend a boat show that is held in the fall or winter months. The off season is the best time to buy because it is too cold for most people to go out boating and no one is really interested in the activity at the time so therefore dealers will lower their prices during the fall and winter months in hopes to make a sale.
